The thINK Food Project is a fundraising program that the Daily Bread is running in Toronto and it is now being expanded all over Canada. It is a positive initiative and a representative of the Canadian Association of Food Banks speaks highly of the participants' dedication.

THE CONCEPT
The thINK fundraising effort is a project that partners food banks and the ink jet recycling industry. The idea for the project is simple: turn used ink jet cartridges into food by reconditioning the product to be like new and donating the proceeds to the food bank.

COLLECTION
There are both public and in-house collection sites for the ink jet cartridges. Many workplaces, schools and community groups have implemented the project for their staff, students and members.

Radio Shack Canada is the National Lead Public Drop Off location for the thINK Project. In this regard they have agreed to set up collection boxes for the public to drop off their used cartridges in all of their stores across Canada. The store locations will be set up as the project grows into each community. Radio Shack has also agreed to promote the project through their flyers.

SPONSORSHIP
Petro Canada is the Premier Sponsor and the Lead Ontario Sponsor of the project. They have provided funding for the development of promotional material, they promote the project internally, and their administrative offices are collection sites themselves.

HOW IT WORKS
Simply let the AFBNA Coordinator know that you want to participate in this project. And we will arrange for you to recieve material.
